Hey! I'm Lavinia Ruf.
I am a design engineer and artist based in Berlin.
I work in multi-disciplinary design fields across product and spatial design, as well as film and photography sets, public sculptures and installation projects.
What once started out as scribble painting, taking apart toy cars, and making houses for my Barbies, now has turned into creating things that aim to make people feel something deeper.
I love how objects, spaces, and the combination of the two can tell stories that reconnect people with themselves, others, and their environment. My interest in nature’s forms and beauty is one of my biggest sources of inspiration, and I am passionate about using hands-on and digital creation methods to explore and craft designs grounded in simplicity and true sustainability.
In 2023, I graduated with a First Class Bachelor degree in Design Engineering at Imperial College London. During my studies, I explored various creative and technical fields - all with an emphasis on effective and beautiful human-centred design. My background has given me abilities to use traditional and modern materials and methods to comprehensively carry out a project’s development and implementation - whatever the field may be.
In my work, light and textures set the stage, and each object acts like an instrument in a harmonising choir.
Nature, paint and objects are my mediums. Products, spaces and artworks are my playground.
